  1. 1. I searched "Barefoot Running" under Google Blogs.
    2. I chose this post, as I myself am a "barefoot runner".
    3. The writer tries to "hook" his audience by advertising for a new minimalist running shoe-the Vibram Bikila Five Fingers.
    4. The layout is straight forward, colorful, and easy to navigate (i.e. functioning links).
    5. This blog is both for insiders and outsiders. It provides tips for experienced runners, yet it is also inviting for the less experienced athlete. Consequently, the author provides categories to meet the needs of all potential viewers. New runners can explore the link titled, "Beginning", while more experienced runners can read about "How to Improve One's Stride".

  2. 1. What did you search for to find this post?

    Funny blog

    2. What made you choose this post rather than others you looked at?

    The pictures drew my attention

    3. What kind of introduction does the post have? How does the writer try to hook his or her reader?

Not much of an introduction at all- the author goes straight into the funny pictures

    4. What do you think of the blog’s layout? Is it inviting or intimidating?

The layout is disorganized, but inviting

    5. How does the blogger conceive of his or her audience? Is it for insiders or outsiders? What kinds of knowledge does the author assume of his or her reader? Are these assumptions true of you?

The blog is for anyone that's looking for a quick, dumb laugh, and it provides that with excellence. It is for outsiders as well as insiders, and the author is assuming that you are going to his page in order to just have a good laugh. And yes, these assumptions were true of me.

  3. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/08/20/obama-weekly-address-congress-jobs-action_n_932053.html

1.I searched Congress and the President
    2. It talked about current events rather than the relationship between the legislative branch and executive branch throughout history
    3. The introduction has a news-like introduction, starting with basic facts
    4. the blog has a clean layout much like an newspaper
    5. the blogger talks about the relationship between President Obama and Congress almost as a sports event. The blogger gives us a play-by-play but doesn't really show his opinion. the Blogger assumes that the reader is frustrated with the bickering of Congress. This doesn't necessarily apply to me.

  4. http://www.amazingdessertrecipes.blogspot.com/

To find the blog that I selected, I entered "Dessert recipes" into my google search engine. I chose the this particular blog because the title was "Amazing Dessert Recipes". Other blogs had titles such as "Skinny Desserts" or "Diet Desserts". I wasn't interested in any of these blogs. This title already had me hooked. The introduction to the post "Pecan Pie Bars" was very inviting. The blogger hooked me by the picture she posted at the top of the page. The dessert looked delicious and I wanted to read more. I loved the blog's layout. She posted step by step pictures that would help the reader to understand how to make her recipes. The blogger was targeting home cooks that were looking for simple recipes.

  5. http://blogs.bengals.com/

I searched for bengals blog. I chose this post because its current and I want to be updated on whats going on with Terrell Pryor. The title is "Plenty of info on Pryor" which is rather catchy. The layout looks new and official, its a part of the bengals actual website. This blog is meant for fans who want to be kept up to date with inside information on the bengals. The author assumes the reader knows the players by name and in my case his assumption is true.

  6. http://mceschergallery.blogspot.com/

    1. I searched for the artist's name.

    2. I choose this post rather than others because I have taken a keen interest in this artist's work lately. I am curious to see his works and what others have to say about them.

    3. The introduction is a brief biography about the artist before presenting his art work. There is no real hook to grab the reader.

    4. The blog's layout is bland yet the artwork pictures make it more appealing. It is not that inviting at first.

    5. The blogger conceives his audience to be fans of MC Escher. I don't think there are any assumptions being made by the author besides the fact that the reader has an interest in art.

  7. The blogger name is Bryan Hanks. He is from Kinston, NC. Bryan runs a blog that keeps the community updated with community events and high school sports. He grabs his readers attention by having subheadings like " Woo-hoo, Were Back Baby!". The Overall layout of this blog is very interesting because it has all kind of things about sports that happened in the past week between georgetown basketball team vs china.

  8. The first thing that I searched was "Art" because art is a big part of my life. I chose to look at this particular post rather than a different one because it was very unique and interesting. It was titled," Watch Speakers Make Album Art By Bumping the Bass Filled With Paint" which I thought was a very interesting concept. This blog's layout is extremely simple and straight forward and nothing too flashy which is right up my alley. This blog is not just limited to art however, it has other posting pertaining to current technologies as well as random videos of a man driving a tank into a McDonald's drive thru. So I am assuming that this blog isn't exclusive to one group of people but is available to a wide range of bloggers.

  9. 1. I searched for "photography" and then "action photography".
2.I first searched for fashion blogs and did not find them as intriguing as this blog. The action shots on the blog immediately drew my attention and fascinated me.
3.This blog has a short introduction. It is about the art of action photography and the excitement it brings to viewers.
4.The blog's layout is excellent. The simple, black background provides little distraction for the viewer. The viewer is able to completely focus all attention on the vibrant, exciting pictures.
    5. The blog seems to be directed at those with little experience with action photography.
